Edwin L. Apel, age 73, former resident of Burr Ridge for 43 years and current resident of Hinsdale, at rest January 1, 2021. Loving husband of Susan Apel (nee: Staats) for 46 years. Devoted father of Jeff (Renee) Apel and Mark (Sheila) Apel. Cherished grandfather of Christian, Audrey and Delilah. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, John G. and Esther A. Apel and his brother John Apel.

Ed was a self-employed Commodity Trader and a member of The Chicago Mercantile Exchange for 52 years. He enjoyed being a long-time member of Ruth Lake Country Club and Board Member-Treasurer of The Burr Ridge Park District for 10 years. Ed was also a member of the Burr Ridge United Church of Christ. Services at this time will be private.
