Dorothy Ann “Dotty” Zander was born on December 29, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Edith Steinwert. Dotty attended the Summit Country Day School and the University of Cincinnati. She became a flight attendant for American Airlines. Through mutual friends, she was introduced to the love of her life, Richard “Dick” Zander, who predeceased her in 2016. They were married in 1955. They had three children, Jan (Steve) Lutz of Wenatchee WA, Bob (Monica Eorgoff) Zander of St. Charles IL, and Barb Bieschke of Geneva, IL, and 5 grand-children: Richard, Taylor and Parker Lutz, Caren Shorthouse and Tyler Bieschke. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, Dotty became controller for Cervantes Restaurants and later controller of Indian Lakes Resort. Dotty and Dick enjoyed traveling around the world with good friends, Millie and Donn Wright, John and Erma Cook, and others. In 1991, they retired to Sun Lakes, Arizona where they enjoyed many years of golf, friends and warm weather. Dotty was a President of the Sun Lakes Ladies Golf Association and shot 2 holes-in-one. Dotty was always very sweet and loving to all who knew her. She always had a positive disposition. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
