HART, ARTHUR J. – Arthur Joseph Hart, age 85, a 47-year resident of Berwyn, passed away on July 28, 2022 of Alzheimer’s disease in Willowbrook. He was born September 3, 1936, in Chicago, to the late Frank and the late Frances (nee Erba) Hart. He met his loving wife, Karen (nee Toombs), who predeceased him in 2020, when he was in the Coast Guard stationed in Galveston, Texas.  They wed there on June 7, 1958, and were married 62 years when she passed away. For many years, Art, a Chicago Marathon runner, lead a team in the annual “St Jude Chicago to Peoria Run” which raised funds for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He was past president of Cicero Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Berwyn Development Corp board member. He was retired from Waste Management after many years in sales management.

Above all, Art was a devoted family man who took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all of them. Beloved father of Darla (Richard) Barrett, Arthur II, Paul (Deborah) and Lori (Hugh) O’Malley. Dearest “Boompa” (grandfather) of Holly (Pablo) Sosa; Victoria, Daniel and Stephanie; Nathan (Lindsey) and Samuel (Brittany); and Margaret (fiancé Cory Jirak), Sarah and Hugh O’Malley. Great-grandfather of Austin. Longtime parishioner of St Leonard’s Catholic Church, Berwyn. Visitation at Adolf Funeral Home, 2921 S Harlem Ave, Berwyn, Thursday, August 4 from 8:00 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St Leonard’s Catholic Church, 3300 S. Clarence Ave, Berwyn. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, following Mass.
