Joanne M. Cook, age 90, (nee: Vogt), longtime Hinsdale resident passed away November 13, 2022.             Joanne is survived by sons Clark (Holly) Cook and Greggory Cook, grandsons Colin (Amy) Cook and Garrett Cook. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband John “Jack” Cook, her companion of 35 years,                 Dr. E.J. Justema and her parents Leo and Lucille Vogt (nee: Dugas).

Joanne was born February 7, 1932, in Elgin, IL. She attended St. Edward Catholic High School in Elgin and went on to earn a degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Iowa. After college Joanne worked in many fields including modeling, teaching at St. Peter and Paul Grade School in Naperville, starting her own successful wholesale coffee business and as owner and operator of Hinsdale Clothiers for nearly 35 years.

Joanne’s interests included showing German Shepherd Dogs and eventually American Saddle Bred Horses. She was an avid reader of fiction, loved antiquing with friends and was a member of the Collectors Club of Hinsdale. Joanne fulfilled her lifelong dream when she built her “summer” home on Stormy Lake in Northern Wisconsin. She spent her last 35 summers “up North” where she loved to go water skiing, boating, and snowmobiling in the Wintertime. Joanne’s volunteer and charitable work was near and dear to her heart. She was a past president of the Hinsdale Infant Welfare Society, a member of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago and a member of The Service Club of Chicago.

Memorial Visitation Friday December 9th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Service 7:00 pm) at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Service Club of Chicago 233 E. Erie Street, Suite 405, Chicago, IL 60611 (www.theserviceclubofchicago.org) would be appreciated.
