Rudolph (Rudy) J. Cervenka, age 95, U.S. Army Veteran, cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, at rest April 25, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Marian E. Cervenka. Loving father of Michael Cevenka and Linda Macchia. Dear grandfather of Joseph (Kelly) Macchia, John (Sarah) Macchia, Gianna Macchia, Meghan Cervenka, and Tiffany Cervenka. Proud great-grandfather to Jack, Natalie, Sophia, Brady, Jeremiah, Alex, Christian, and Nicholas. Brother of Ronald, Edward, and William. Celebrated for doing things on his own terms, sometimes unconventional, but always creative. He was self-determined, genuine, sincere, and always ready with a joke when you needed it most. Throughout his life, he cherished the opportunity to work with his hands and found great fulfillment in creating things from scratch. Known for the fervent love he had for his wife, Mickey, and their children, he treasured their shared journeys and their time spent together. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 2nd, for Mass at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 701 Plainfield Rd, Darien. Entombment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Christ the King Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Honor Flight Chicago would be appreciated: honorflightchicago.org/memorial-gift.
