Anthony Leo (Tony) West, 80, of Willowbrook and formerly of Elmhurst died peacefully on April 7th. Tony was raised on Chicago's south side attending St. Cajetan grade school, Mendel Catholic High School and then Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating he returned to his roots in Chicago teaching special education in Chicago Public Schools. Jumping from there to the corporate world, he started his own business for a time and worked in advertising sales for the remaining 40 years of his career. Besides being a proud father and grandfather, Tony enjoyed painting, photography, the cheapest scotch and the most expensive steaks. He was a golfer since his teens, always striving to be a better one.

Tony is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Jo, 3 sons Brian(Jinny), Eric (Kathy), Dan(Lorrie), 7 grandchildren Sola, Young, Teo, Declan, Eli, Rosemary and Zuri West and his brother Mike(Sue) West. Memorial visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday, April 15 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (8404 S Cass Ave in Darien) with a mass immediately following. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
