Bon S. de Ocampo

Bon S. de Ocampo, (73), of Woodridge, IL passed away on October 10, 2023, surrounded by his immediate family after a 9 month battle with lung cancer.

Bon, born as Bonifacio Miguel S. de Ocampo or fondly known as Boni, was born to Sotero and Laureana de Ocampo, on May 8, 1950, in the Philippines. He was a varsity basketball player at the University of Santo Tomas, which led  him to be a huge sports fanatic. After moving to America in the 80s, Bon went on to work as a case worker with Catholic Charities and eventually switched his career to auto sales.

Bon reunited with his soulmate, Susan, in New York with whom he married on February 10, 1990. They would go on to settle in Illinois and have 2 children, Sarah (Samson Lam) and Bo Michael, along with his beloved dogs B and Bear. He is also survived by 6 of his siblings Antonio De Ocampo, Wilhelmina Maliwat, Digna De Ocampo, Jo Babaran, Nila Yu, and Maria Florence Kain. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Sotero De Ocampo, Jr.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1-7pm at Adolf Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL 60527. Mass will be held Monday, October 16, 2023 at 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 8404 S Cass Ave, Darien, IL, 60561. He will be laid to rest at Clarendon Hills Cemetery, 6900 S Cass Ave, Darien, IL 60561.
