Charles DeForest Wright, 80, of Burr Ridge, died peacefully at his home on May 20, 2024.

He was born in Coldwater, Michigan in 1943 but left for the bright lights of Chicago and never looked back.

Chuck retired from Navistar/International after a successful three-decade career. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend and passionate golfer who never missed a chance to pursue his love of the sport.

He and his wife Barbara enjoyed dining out, traveling and enjoying their life together. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Bartholomew and Harold Wright, and his brothers Larry and Curtis Wright.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, his son Jason (Lucy) and his grandsons James and Boris. Visitation Tuesday May 28th from 3 to 8 pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook. Funeral service Wednesday May 29th 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hinsdale Humane Society or the DAV would be appreciated.
