Cheryl Lee Buzecky, age 74, of Downers Grove, formerly of Riverside passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 20th, 2025.  Beloved wife of Leonard "Buzz" Buzecky.  Loving mother of Adam Buzecky (Tonya Wibe), Scott (Erin) Buzecky, Sandy Buzecky (William Hastert) and Brian (Nora) Buzecky.  Dear grandmother of Willam, Nolan and Kelsey Buzecky.  Fond sister of the late Richard Novak Jr., the late Robert Novak and the late Ronald Novak.  Devoted daughter to the late Myrtle Novak and the late Richard Novak Sr.

She met the love of her life Buzz Buzecky when they were teenagers and spent the next 54 years creating a lifetime of memories together. In April 2024, Cheryl and Buzz celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family and friends.  Cheryl spent a majority of her time raising four loving children and later retired from being a medical administrative assistant.  Cheryl "Grammy" always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Cheryl loved going to William and Nolan's baseball games and Kelsey picked up Cheryl's love for horses and enjoyed watching her ride.  Cheryl was an extremely talanted cook and crafter.  She spent decades traveling to quilt shows and making personalized quilts for friends and family.  Cheryl loved traveling to Traverse City, Michigan and enjoyed sunsets on the beach.  Cheryl was an avid fan of Barry Manilow (Fanilow) and went to his concerts everywhere from Chicago to Las Vegas.

Above all else, Cheryl was a true animal lover and she particularly loved Alaskan Malamutes.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local animal shelter or a organization such as Tender Loving Care (TLC) in Homer Glen (tlcanimalshelter.org)

A visitation will be held from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday, January 25th, at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 South Madison Street, Willowbrook. Family and friends will gather on Sunday January 26, 2025 for a 10am funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
