Diane Emily Sygnator

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Diane Emily Sygnator on February 21, 2025, at the age of 80. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, LeRoy Richard Sygnator, her parents, Anthony Mika and Emily Betts and her in-laws Adolph and Janet Sygnator.

She is survived by her loving children: Dori (Robin) Fugate, Brian (Penny) Sygnator,
and Jay (Maryanne) Sygnator. Diane “Gram” will be forever cherished by her grandchildren: Jake (Sarah) Fugate, Emily (Scott) Smolen, Jonathan (Abby Stout) Fugate, Alexis, Amanda, Isabelle, Charlie and Emma Sygnator. She was also the proud “GiGi” of Caleb and Connor Smolen and Scarlett and Rivers Fugate. Diane’s love extended to her grand pups, Luke, Kane, Lucy, Wesson, Hank and the late Kole, who brought her so much joy. Diane is also survived by her sister, Shirley (the late Ace) Widlak and her sister-in law, Christine (the late Richard) Mika.

Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found immense joy in spending time with her family. Whether it be a backyard BBQ, spending time at the club or celebrating a holiday, she thrived in the presence of her family. She also loved her yard and garden, spending endless hours making it manicured and pristine. A natural nurturer and caregiver, Diane ensured that everyone who entered her circle was loved and cared for. She cherished the time spent with her sister-in-law and friends playing cards, doing puzzles or enjoying a lunch outing. These simple moments brought her great joy.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and as a devout Catholic, she leaned heavily on her Savior, Jesus Christ, for strength and guidance throughout her life’s journey. As she was welcomed home to heaven, we are comforted knowing that her beloved, Lee, was there to greet her with open arms.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL 60527. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 for a 9:30am funeral mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 111 S Cass Ave, Westmont, IL 60559.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in support of childhood cancer research.
