George Anthony Zykan, age 93, U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, was called home on December 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

George was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Zykan, with whom he shared 69 blessed years of marriage. He was a loving father to Marian (Mike) Zimmerman and Kristine Zykan-Suarez (Kim Suarez) and a devoted grandfather to Jessica and Jenna Zimmerman. He was a dear brother to the late Tony (Jackie) Zykan.

Born on June 11, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, George was a proud graduate of Harrison Technical High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1955. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Barbara, beginning a partnership marked by faith, devotion, and unwavering love.

George was an amazing man with a great sense of humor, a deep love for his family, and a strong Christian faith. He had a generous heart, and everyone who met him was touched by his kindness. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, faith, and service will forever be remembered and cherished.

Visitation will be on Friday December 19th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook.

Family and friends will gather for a final goodbye at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20th at 9:15am followed by a mass at 10:00 am at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 600 W. 55th Street, LaGrange. Services will conclude at the church.

Interment Monday December 22nd, 1:00 pm at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
