Gerald "Jerry" W. Shea, 84, of Burr Ridge passed away on December 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne S. Shea, and is survived by his daughter, Courtney C. Shea. A graduate of the University of Illinois and the DePaul University College of Law, at the time of his death Jerry was the senior principal in the lobbying firm of Shea, Paige & Rogal, Inc. He served five terms in the Illinois House of Representatives (1967-1977), including two terms in leadership, one as Majority Leader. Following the close of his legislative career, Jerry remained active in public service as a Member (1999-2002) and Chairman (2001-2002) of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Transportation Authority, and as a member of several other government commissions. Visitation will be held at Adolf Funeral Home 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook, on Monday from 4 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. John of the Cross 5005 S.
