Gerry Fink, 78, born in Chicago, IL, and longtime resident of Hinsdale, IL, died
October 15, 2024 in Fredericksburg, VA where he had moved following retirement to be closer to his family on the East Coast. He was a graduate of Morton West High School and The University of Illinois in Champagne-Urbana where he met his best friend and loving wife of 54 years, Kathy (nee Cox). He is survived by Kathy and his children Jonathan and Danielle, granddaughter Kendra and brother Kenneth. Gerry and Kathy resided in Hinsdale for 39 years where he served as Village Treasurer and President of the Library Board. He was a CPA based in Chicago with a 33 year career at Arthur Andersen and 5 years with Deloitte. All of his family and friends will remember his prowess at trivia, his famous Christmas eggnog, his love of sports, his dry wit and Midwestern sarcasm but most of all for his giving, kindhearted soul. A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held on Saturday December 7, 2024 from 11am until time of service at 12pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL 60527.  His ashes will be privately interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park, IL.
