James I Keller Obituary

James I. Keller, age 83, passed away on August 27, 2026.  He was born on September 2, 1942, in Berwyn, IL to the late Madelon E. (nee Petrtyl) and the late James Keller. It was during his early working days at the G.C. Murphy store in Berwyn's Cermak Plaza that he met his future wife, Marilyn.  James and Marilyn were long-time, proud residents of La Grange Park who later settled in Willowbrook, IL.

James possessed a strong work ethic, dedicating over 40 years to management in furniture manufacturing where he built a career at Chicago's Churchill Cabinet Co. and Butler Specialty Co. Even after retiring, he stayed active by delivering smiles across the community for Phillip's Flowers.

James, an avid hunter and fisherman in his youth, was also a dedicated bowler throughout his life and spent years building a remarkable die-cast car collection. The same patience and appreciation for detail carried over into his personal life through his extensive, carefully curated collection. Above all his hobbies and hard work, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his cherished granddaughter. He was deeply proud of his family, always supporting them with all his heart. Through it all, James remained a Chicago sports fan —his loyalty belonged completely to the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs, though he always quietly kept a soft spot in his heart for the White Sox, too.

James is the beloved husband of Marilyn F. Keller nee Luzar for 62 years. Loving father of Maureen E (Patrick) Murray and Jeffrey S. Keller. Dearest Grandfather to Addyson E. Murray. Fond brother of Nancy J. Giery and Uncle to Julie A Krane.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10 AM until the time of funeral service at 12 noon at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home 7000 S. Madison St. Willowbrook, IL.  Entombment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Parkinsons Foundation.
