Janelle Louise Svozil, nee Blocker, age 38, of La Grange Highlands, formerly of Tinley Park, IL, passed away August 10, 2025.

Beloved wife of Brent P. Svozil for ten wonderful years.  Loving mother of Colton and Brinley Svozil.  A dear daughter of James and the late Deborah Blocker. Adoring sister to James (Megan) Blocker, Jeanna (Tim) Keller, Dana (Michael) Szafranowski and the late Dale Blocker.  A cherished daughter-in-law of Anthony and Kim Svozil. Devoted sister-in-law of Craig Svozil and Rochelle DuBridge.  Proud aunt of Haley, Tyler, Madycin, Aiden, Jackson, Kennedy, Rachel, Scarlett, Opal and Hendrix. A niece to many aunts and uncles. A cousin to many.

A proud alum of Eastern Illinois University, Janelle was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, where she built lifelong friendships and learned the values of leadership, and service-values she carried into her celebrated teaching career at Central Middle School, Evergreen Park, IL.  Her infectious enthusiasm for her students was electric.  .

Her passions were many: she loved music—whether singing along, dancing, or sharing songs with her children—and she was loud in her love and support for her family and friends. Her energy was infectious, her encouragement unshakable, and her loyalty fierce.  She championed growth in others and held a resounding love for her family, friends, students, and colleagues. Though she has left us far too soon, her spirit endures in the lives she touched—and in the joyful echoes of her love.

A celebration of her life will take place at  Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook, IL on Monday, August 18, 2025, 2 – 5pm, with prayers at 4:45pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations, to the gofundme account at https://gofund.me/1a378ef2
