Jennifer “Jenny” L. Trujillo, lovingly known as Jennifer Vickers, passed away suddenly on Monday morning, September 8, 2025, at the young age of 43.

Born on February 12, 1982, to the late Coleen M. Vickers and Al Vickers, Sr., Jenny was raised in Chicago, IL, and graduated from John F. Kennedy School. At just 15 years old, she began working at Lindy’s and Gertie’s, where she remained for more than 25 years. Jenny’s greatest joy at work was the people; her customers became her friends, and in many ways, her family.
 

Jenny spent her final years in Willowbrook, IL, where she relocated in 2022. Her greatest joy in life was her children, Mariah Trujillo, 23, and Christopher Trujillo, 17. To her, their happiness was everything. In her home, weekends felt like holidays, her hands felt like home, and there was never a day without a homemade meal ready to bring people together.

Jenny will forever be remembered by her children as a bright light who carried every burden with grace and made life feel effortless, as well as a loving wife, partner, and friend. 

She was known for her strength, her beauty, and her kindness. Anyone fortunate enough to know her felt the warmth of her spirit—a light that never dimmed, a soul who would have chosen forever if it meant more time with her family.

Jenny long embraced the butterfly as her symbol—bold, brave, and effortlessly beautiful. Even her phone notes told a story—filled not with clutter, but with year-old grocery lists and one lasting quote: “If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.” Her legacy will live on through her family and in the hearts of everyone touched by her love.

A visitation for Jennifer will be held at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook, IL, on Monday, September 15, from 3:00 PM until time of religious service at 7:30 PM.
