Kathy Lau Obituary
We commemorate the life of Kathy Lau, who passed away peacefully on August 8th, surrounded by her loving family.
Raised and educated in Hong Kong, Kathy’s journey led her to the United States, where she built a beautiful life centered around her family and friends. She was the devoted wife of Joe, a true partner in every sense of the word. Together, they raised three children—Anne, Eric, and Ed—and later welcomed their children’s spouses—Frankie, Lilian, and Jody—into the family. Kathy and Joe also delighted in their five grandchildren: Megan, Nathan, Hailey, Kaitlyn, and Aaron.
Kathy and Joe traveled quite a bit between Hong Kong and the U.S., cherishing the connections to their roots while embracing their life in America. Kathy's greatest joy was being around her family. She poured her heart into caring for them, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and an unwavering sense of love.
She was blessed with her Christian faith and was baptized in December 2019 together with her husband. Since then, her life was a testament to her beliefs.
She found immense happiness in simple pleasures, whether it was the lively chatter of a family gathering, sharing a meal with loved ones, or a friendly game of mahjong with friends. Kathy loved orchids, and her home was a sanctuary filled with the beauty of these flowers she so lovingly tended.
Kathy will be deeply missed by her husband, children, their spouses, and grandchildren, as well as relatives and friends.
A service will be held from 9:30-12:30pm on Thursday August 21, 2025 at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL 60527.
