Leona Maren Obituary

Leona Julie Maren of Lagrange passed away at her home in early March 2025 of heart failure. She was born July 3rd, 1942 in Blue Island to Agnes (nee Piwowarski) and Walter Wnukowski. Leona graduated from the University of Illinois in 1964 and worked as a teacher before becoming a top performer in her sales career. Leona led a very active lifestyle for many years. She enjoyed working with pottery, stained glass, and antique furniture. She also enjoyed playing tennis, dancing, travel, and joining in on any party or festival. Leona made many acquaintances over the years. She was a strong and independent woman who had to overcome a lot of adversity in her life. She was loved very much by many, and especially her children. Survived by her son Brice Philip Maren (Emily Sara White), the father of her children David Anthony Maren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Wnukowski and her daughter Julie Anne Maren.

You will be missed Leona, rest in peace. Interment private.
