Mary Seaton Martin, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in Burr Ridge, Illinois on December 4, 2024. Mary was a 1954 graduate of Hinsdale Township High School (now Central), and a graduate of Iowa State University. She lived most of her life in Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, and Burr Ridge. Mary was an avid reader, dog lover and very accomplished at the piano (she could play and sing any college fight song). She was known for her dry wit, unapologetically being herself, her goofy, playful side, and a great sense of curiosity about the world and others. Additionally, she was a long-standing member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family. Beloved wife of Richard J. Martin for 61 years. Loving mother of Julia M. (Jeffrey) Bacigalupo, James K. (Jane C.) Martin and William L. Martin. Cherished grandmother of Allison L. Driscoll, Lauren E. Lehner (Brian C.), Michael J. Driscoll, Robert C. Martin, Scott L. Martin and Anne L. Martin. Dear sister of James M. Seaton, the late Robert L. Seaton, and loving daughter of the late George L. Seaton and Mildred I. Seaton.
Private family service and interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or King-Bruwaert House.
