Norman J. Buggele, a longtime resident of Berwyn, died on August 16, 2024, at the age of 91.

Norm was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 27, 1932, to the late John (Hans) and Helene (nee Banach) Buggele.  His father immigrated from Augsburg, Germany to Milwaukee.  During the depression, his parents came to Chicago and then moved to Berwyn in 1938.  Norm attended Irving School and Morton East High School.  He completed a tool and die apprenticeship, while attending Northwestern University School of Business and Engineering in the evenings.  Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force Reserve as a Meteorologist for 9 years before being discharged as a staff sergeant.  

Norm met his late wife, JoAnn M. (nee Hojnowski) Buggele, at a Catholic Young Peoples dance group and were married on May 5, 1956.  Initially, they lived in Cicero for a year, but moved back to Berwyn, where they made it their forever home.  Norm was employed at Western Electric and Lucent Technologies for 32 years.  During his retirement, Norm and JoAnn owned and operated a large travel agency and school in Chicago called Fly & Sea Travel & Cruises for 15 years.  He loved traveling with his wife around the world, especially to Alaska, Hawaii, Panama, and the Caribbean.  

Norm was the dearly beloved husband of the late JoAnn for 60 years.  Loving father of daughter Yvonne (the late Michael) Borrelli and sons Norman (Gloria) Buggele and Bruce (Jean) Buggele.  Devoted grandfather to Kristina and Tiffany Borrelli, Ann (Matt) Aloisio, and Dr. William (Kara) Buggele.  Adored great-grandfather to Michael, Mila, Edward, Aniela, Levi, and Theo.  Norm is survived by his brother Alvin E. (the late Gertrude) Buggele of Milan, Ohio and many nieces.  

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23rd at 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 am at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 306 W. Fourth Street, Hinsdale, IL. Following the funeral mass, Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL.
