In Loving Memory of Pola “Polita” Aguirre Del Angel

Polita Aguirre Del Angel passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the age of 87. Polita was born April 21, 1937, in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Jesus Del Angel and Lucrecia Sosa.

Polita and her family moved to Chicago in the early sixties from Mexico, she worked diligently in the restaurant business providing for her family in those early days. She and her late husband Gilberto worked hard to provide for their children to give them a happy upbringing. Polita enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She found joy in her grandchildren and was especially happy in caring for and nurturing them.

Polita was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children Leticia (Anthony) Madrigal, Daniel (Juanita) Aguirre, David Aguirre (Julia Kamenetsky), Andre (Blanca Saucedo), Laura (Gian) Di Loreto; and her cherished twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Reyes, and sisters, Rebecca, Maria, Margarita, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Polita was preceded in death by her husband Gilberto Aguirre and her sister Chaio.

Polita is remembered for her joyous disposition, hosting family gatherings, cheerful spirit, laughter, and all the happiness she brought into the world with her boundless love, care, and charity. She is known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held at 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Adolf Funeral Home, 2921 S Harlem Ave, Berwyn, IL 60402. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Mater Christi Church, 2401 10th Ave., North Riverside, IL 60546.
