Richard Dennis Hahn, 77 of Lockport, IL passed away peacefully at Hines Veterans Hospital, Maywood, IL on December 27, 2025. He was born in Chicago, IL on January 21, 1948, to Kenneth and Marie Hahn.
He was a beloved brother to Kenneth (Linda) Hahn, William (the late Linda) Hahn, James (the late Laura) Hahn, Rochelle Hahn, and Harold (Peggy) Hahn and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Richard was the beloved grandfather to his step-grandchildren Mandy Linhart and Corey McMillion, both of Louisianna, who he helped to raise. He always kept his doors unlocked in case either of them ever needed a warm place to stay.
Richard served his time in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Charlie Company in Vietnam during the years of 1969-1970 and was honorably discharged in 1974. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Richard will be especially missed by his sister and 4 brothers. He loved our Lord.
A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers and staff at the hospice care unit at Hines Hospital. Richard and his family were truly blessed to have them.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 8404 S. Cass Avenue, Darien, IL. at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
