Rita Murtaugh passed away on September 19, 2026 at Chateau Rehab Center in Willowbrook. She was born on March 18, 1935 in Chicago to Leo and Hattie Bigus. Loving mother of Patricia(Richard) Wiksten, Walter(Jane) Murtaugh, James(Beth) Murtaugh and the late John. Beloved grandma of Ryan(Nicole) Wiksten, Cynthia(Ted) Cassis, Michael(Annie) Murtaugh, Megan Murtaugh, Shelbi(Brian) Plough, Nick Murtaugh, Cody Murtaugh and Mindy(Colton) Kuneth. Great grandmother of Emerson, Will, Gerald and Jack. She was preceded in death by her husbands  James(d.2019) and Ronald Braun(d.1962).Services will be private.
