Roy Millard Stafford

Roy Millard Stafford, 88, passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, from heart complications.  He leaves behind many friends and acquaintances from a rich and rewarding life spanning three continents and various careers.  Born in England and raised in Australia, Roy served as a Royal Marine Commando, played professional soccer for Deal Town F.C., Eng., worked at the Chicago Tribune as a typesetter and settled into the jewelry business as an owner and certified GIA gemologist in the Chicago suburbs.  Roy was a professional golfer and a pilot. Roy is survived by: his wife Judith, née Gardner, son Tony and wife Kristin of Summerville, SC, two granddaughters Erica and Emily Buchanan of Grover Beach, CA and a grandson Alec Morris who resides in England.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby Muriel Stafford, née Mears, and Arthur Millard Stafford and by his daughter Julie Morris all of England. Celebration of life will be held at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Rd, Oak Brook, IL 60523 on Tuesday May 20, 2025.  Visitation 9:30AM, Memorial Service 11:00AM, luncheon to follow.
