With profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth Ann Zymm, age 91, beloved wife of the late Robert and our devoted Mother on Tuesday, 13 August 2024 in her home at Park Place of Elmhurst, which they enjoyed for almost eleven years. 

Ruth was originally from Missouri where she worked for the local telephone company and met the love of her life, Bob, on a New Years’s Eve blind date.  She then moved to Illinois where they were married for sixty-three years and had two daughters.  After raising her family, Ruth returned to work at New Archery Products and remained there until retirement.  She enjoyed a full life as an avid daily walker, a lover of reading, sewing, and counted cross stitch along with her caring devotion to her husband especially during his long battle with Alzheimer’s. Ruth loved her family dearly and for all those lives she touched she will be remembered as a sweet, kind woman of deep faith which guided her and her husband to devote countless hours to many charities including making quilts with her church for Lutheran World Relief and supporting numerous hunger organizations.  She was an excellent baker known for her Kolacky cookies & Apple Pies and especially her genuinely beautiful smile.  

Ruth is survived by her children Debra (Frank) De Francesco & Deena Zymm, sister-in-law JoAnne, as well as, many nieces & nephews.  Also, we believe she is enjoying a joyful reunion with Jesus, her three brothers, sister and all her family and friends in heaven where they will visit for all eternity! 

The family asks for privacy as we say our final goodbye with a closed service.  In lieu of flowers, please consider Almsgiving supporting one of Ruth’s favorite organizations: Lutheran World Relief, Alzheimer’s Association, Arthritis Foundation, Christ Church or Providence Hospice. We will be forever grateful to the team of Angels, Donna, Michele, Janelle, Sue, Tony, Sarah and Chaplain Ruth guiding us and caring for both Mom & Dad doing Gods work on earth Helping Others Simply Pass Into Calm Eternity.
