Shirley Klemchuk, née Fleisleber, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024 in Burr Ridge at the age of 91 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and faithful friend to many.

Shirley was born on August 29, 1932 to Claire Fleisleber in Missouri, where they resided briefly. They returned  to Chicago, where Shirley was raised by her grandparents, Katherine and Frank Fleisleber. Shirley was a graduate of Farragut High School where she excelled academically and musically. She also studied dance, and worked as a model in downtown Chicago.

In September of 1950, Shirley married the love of her life, Raymond Klemchuk.

Shirley and Ray were married for 73 years. Their marriage is a testament to enduring love.  Shirley was a woman of strong faith, and was always very active in church life and work.  She worked in the family business with Ray, and enjoyed world travel, gathering with friends and family, and entertaining at home.  

Shirley was an active member of the Berwyn Garden Club, Warren Park Presbyterian Church, Christ Church of Oakbrook,  Member of P.E.O  Sisterhood. 

Beloved wife of Raymond Klemchuk, dear Mother of Cynthia Claire Soumar, Raymond (Karen) Klemchuk, and Elyse Klemchuk. Loved Grandmother of Shelby (Kyle) Sutton, Meagan (Drew) Roskos, Michael Raymond (Tess) Klemchuk, and Kate Klemchuk (fiancé Michael Claisse).  Great-Grandmother of Jack, Lucas, and Eleanor; Louise “Lou”, Cecelia “Cece”, and Edward “Ned”.

A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until time of Funeral Service 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook, IL 60527. 

Interment will be observed at a future date.
