Zenaida Almase Jakosalem, age 84, at rest October 1, 2023. Loving wife of Joel Jakosalem for 59 years. Cherished mother of Karl (Rose) Jakosalem and Jessica (Mark) Rolla. Devoted grandmother of Michael, Brenden, and Juliann Jakosalem. Dear sister of Dr. Rudy Almase, and the late Ramon Almase, Belen Villanueva and Leyden Almase.

Zenaida was born February 12, 1939, in San Narciso, Quezon, Philippines. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felicisimo and Teodula Almase. 

Zenaida lived a joyful, faithful life showing love and compassion to all those she met. Devoted to family and a strong faith, she bravely immigrated to the United States to provide opportunities for her family. With her smile and infectious giggles, she loved being around family and friends, and always looked forward to celebrating Sunday mass at church and with the Sto. Nino families.

Zenaida was a well-respected nurse and retired after 39 years of service to the Veterans Administration Lakeside and Hines Hospitals. Visitation Sunday October 8th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home 7000 S. Madison Street, Willowbrook. Family and friends will gather on Monday October 9th for Mass 10:00 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church,  701 Plainfield Rd, Darien. Interment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
